Youth Bowling Clinic - 110103

Youth Bowling Clinic is designed to teach the fundamentals of bowling for kids in grades K-12.

The clinic is taught by two USBC certified coaches and students on the high school bowling team.

The program will be held on Saturdays for seven weeks.

DAILY ADMISSION: $3 per person / $3 skate rental

$25 Key FOB good for 10 admissions and/or skate rental (purchased at Parks and Recreation Office).

Plan-A-Party: The ice rink can be reserved for private group use during off-hours. Call MPRD at 785-587-2757 for details. Visit our website www.mhkprd.com for a registration form.

Refund Policy: Registrants will receive a full refund if we cancel the program or we may be able to transfer you to another class. A full refund is granted if request to withdraw is received one week (seven days) prior to start date; partial refund when requested between one week and at least 48 hours prior to start date and no refund if request is less than 48 hours in advance or failing to show. Participant withdrawals must be received during business hours.

DANCE - 110132

Dance classes are for beginning students and use basic dance steps and choreography to help students develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Students are introduced to basic beginning techniques and vocabulary.

NO DANCE CLASSES MARCH 19-23 FOR SPRING BREAK

Pre-Ballet: Ballet is the basis for all dance training, and our Pre-Ballet classes help children develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Students will be introduced to basic beginning ballet techniques and vocabulary. Ballet slippers or socks may be worn for this class. Instructors will give further information about proper attire at the first class meeting.

Beginning Ballet: This class emphasizes technique, barre work and choreography, as well as ballet vocabulary. Students will develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Ballet slippers are required.

Beginning Hip Hop: In Hip Hop, students will be introduced to the basic concepts, techniques, and choreography of Hip Hop Dance and culture. Wear tennis shoes and socks.

Dance Squad: This class incorporates various dance styles (hip hop, jazz, contemporary) with basic tumbling, pompom, and cheer. Wear tennis shoes. Pompoms will be provided.

Beginning Tap: Students will be introduced to the basic steps of tap in this class. Wear tap shoes.

YOUTH SOCCER Kindergarten - 8th Grade - 110140

Youth Soccer is a popular choice for kids who want to be active and learn to develop their skills as a soccer player.

Players will be assigned to teams by MPRD. Teams will consist of a mixture of players from various schools. Boys and Girls will be in separate leagues if participation numbers permit. Only head coaches' children will be assigned to specific teams.

Shinguards are required for all practices and games. No jewelry is allowed for all practices and games

Season consists of 7 games scheduled by Manhattan Parks and Recreation.
Games will begin no later than the week of March 26, 2018 and tentatively end by May 10, 2018.
Games are played weekday evenings (*Mondays thru Thursdays) starting at 6:00 or 7:00
Games will be played at Anneberg Soccer Complex or Griffith Park.
Practices will begin no later than March 12.
Coaches are responsible for scheduling practice dates, times and locations.
Coaches will notify players by phone/email of team assignment and practice schedule.

PLEASE CONSIDER BEING A COACH FOR YOUR CHILD'S TEAM.
Coaches are volunteers, often parents or college students.
Coaches must attend coaches meeting and complete the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) on-line training/certification.
