Dance classes are for beginning students and use basic dance steps and choreography to help students develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Students are introduced to basic beginning techniques and vocabulary.

NO DANCE CLASSES MARCH 20-23 FOR SPRING BREAK

Pre-Ballet: Ballet is the basis for all dance training, and our Pre-Ballet classes help children develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Students will be introduced to basic beginning ballet techniques and vocabulary. Ballet slippers or socks may be worn for this class. Instructors will give further information about proper attire at the first class meeting.

Beginning Ballet: This class emphasizes technique, barre work and choreography, as well as ballet vocabulary. Students will develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Ballet slippers are required.

Beginning Hip Hop: In Hip Hop, students will be introduced to the basic concepts, techniques, and choreography of Hip Hop Dance and culture. Wear tennis shoes and socks.

Dance Squad: This class incorporates various dance styles (hip hop, jazz, contemporary) with basic tumbling, pompom, and cheer. Wear tennis shoes. Pompoms will be provided.

Beginning Tap: Students will be introduced to the basic steps of tap in this class. Wear tap shoes.

YOUTH CHOIR - 110133

Our area Youth Choir will rehearse weekly to prepare for two performances during the semester, including a shared concert with the Manhattan High School Choirs. Fun and exciting musical literature will include folksongs, world music, art music, and a mix of other musical styles. Rehearsals will include time to prepare our music, as well as learn fundamental music reading skills. All participants will be expected to attend rehearsals and work together as a team. Absolutely no musical background necessary!

YOUTH SOCCER Kindergarten - 8th Grade - 110140

Youth Soccer is a popular choice for kids who want to be active and learn to develop their skills as a soccer player.

Players will be assigned to teams by MPRD. Teams will consist of a mixture of players from various schools. Boys and Girls will be in separate leagues if participation numbers permit. Only head coaches' children will be assigned to specific teams.

Shinguards are required for all practices and games. No jewelry is allowed for all practices and games

Season consists of 7 games scheduled by Manhattan Parks and Recreation.
Games will begin no later than the week of March 27, 2017 and tentatively end by May 11, 2017.
Games are played weekday evenings (*Mondays thru Thursdays) starting at 6:00 or 7:00
Games will be played at Anneberg Soccer Complex or Griffith Park.
Practices will begin no later than the week of March 7, 2016.
Coaches are responsible for scheduling practice dates, times and locations.
Coaches will notify players by phone/email of team assignment and practice schedule.

PLEASE CONSIDER BEING A COACH FOR YOUR CHILD'S TEAM.
Coaches are volunteers, often parents or college students.
Coaches must attend coaches meeting and complete the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) on-line training/certification.

WILDCAT SOCCER - 110141

Includes eight games per team (played as doubleheaders if possible). Each team will travel no more than twice during the season to play a doubleheader (if possible).
*Teams must provide their own equipment and uniforms.
*Fee does not include KSYSA sanction.
*Four game schedules also available if requested.
*Games will be played on weekdays and weekends starting March 25 through May 21.
*Traveling teams will only play weekends.
*Games played at Anneberg Park, the Sunflower Soccer Association and Salina Soccer Complex.
*Games shall be governed by KSYSA Youth Soccer Regulations. Teams must be sanctioned with player cards from KSYSA.

*AGE REQUIREMENT: Cut off date is January 1. Example: A U-12 player cannot be 12 prior to January 1, 2018.
