Youth Bowling Clinic - 110103

Youth Bowling Clinic is designed to teach the fundamentals of bowling for kids in grades K-12.
The clinic is taught by two USBC certified coaches and students on the high school bowling team.
The program will be held on Tuesday evenings for seven weeks.

Little Apple Glow Paddle - 300157

Register today for our 3rd Annual Little Apple Glow Paddle on Saturday, October 20th.

Bring your own kayak or canoe or rent one (first-come, first served, spots limited)

*If you are wanting to register a 3 person personal kayak or canoe, please call the MPRD office at 785-587-2754*

Life jackets are required. All Rented vessels will have lifejacket & paddle included.

Park your vehicle at the Linear Trail Head (Hwy 24) and buses will transport you to Fairmont Park at 6 p.m.

We'll depart from Fairmont Park boat ramp at 6:30 p.m. and paddle back on the Kansas River/Blue River to Linear Trail Head (Approx 2 miles) by 8 p.m.

Round out the evening enjoying s'mores by the campfire!

Note: Little Apple Paddle was voted in 2016 by Kansas Recreation and Parks Association as the “Outstanding New or Innovative Recreation Program/Special Event of the Year”

DANCE - 310132

Dance classes are for beginning students and use basic dance steps and choreography to help students develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Students are introduced to basic beginning techniques and vocabulary. All classes run 45 minutes and are held at the City Park Roundhouse.

FALL SHOWCASE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17 AT 7:00 PM IN PEACE MEMORIAL (CITY) AUDITORIUM

Pre-Ballet: Ballet is the basis for all dance training, and our Pre-Ballet classes help children develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Students will be introduced to basic beginning ballet techniques and vocabulary. Ballet slippers or socks may be worn for this class.

Beginning Ballet: This class emphasizes technique, barre work and choreography, as well as ballet vocabulary. Students will develop and improve their poise, flexibility, grace, self-discipline, and posture. Ballet slippers are required.

Beginning Hip Hop: In Hip Hop, students will be introduced to the basic concepts, techniques, and choreography of Hip Hop Dance and culture. Wear tennis shoes and socks.

Dance Squad: This class incorporates various dance styles (hip hop, jazz, contemporary) with basic tumbling, pompom, and cheer. Wear tennis shoes. Pompoms will be provided.

Beginning Tap: Tap is a form of dance that uses the tap shoes striking the floor to make percussive sound. This class will explore both Jazz and Broadway-style tap. Be prepared for a workout as we explore rhythm and build strength! Students will need to purchase tap shoes for this class.

Instructors will give further information about proper attire at the first class meeting.

Youth soccer is a popular choice for kids who want to be active and learn to develop their skills as a soccer player

Season consists of 7 games scheduled by Manhattan Parks and Recreation
Games begin no later than September 10,2018 and tentatively end by October 28, 2018. Practice days, location and time is up to the coach.

No jewelry is to be worn during games or practices. Shinguards are required to play

PLEASE CONSIDER BEING A COACH FOR YOUR CHILD'S TEAM.
Coaches are volunteers, often parents or college students.
Coaches must attend coaches meeting and complete the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) on-line training/certification.
